Games Design and Development is an exciting area of the computing industry which has flourished in recent years with small games companies springing up all over Scotland.  The video games industry has seen record sales in recent years making over $19.6 billion in 2010, more than the movie industry.

Despite what you may think, 40% of gamers are female and the average age of a gamer is 35 years of age!  To be a part of this industry you must have enthusiasm, good communication skills and persistence.

The NPA Games Development is an excellent starting point in your career and will gain you very useful knowledge and skills.  These materials have been developed by the SQA to meet the needs of a students studying at level, 4, 5 and 6.

If you look to the top right hand corner of each page you will see the level of study for that page.  For example, L4, L5, L6 indicates that the material is for SCQF levels 4, 5 and 6.  L5, L6 indicates that the material is for SCQF levels 5 and 6.  L6 indicates that the material is for SCQF level 6 only.
