Open courses
These introductory courses are designed for online self-study and are open to anyone to enter as a guest. Some are linked to associated scheduled courses, for example the Overview of assessment principles and practice. Other courses are standalone guides, for example, Overview of National Qualifications and a quick guide to the SQA Academy. Select this link to view the entire list of open courses.
Scheduled courses
These courses will take one of two different formats. Some are designed to be delivered purely online by tutors using the materials on the SQA Academy and others are supplemented with a face-to-face workshop. These courses will be scheduled to run for set time periods with groups of participants. Please contact the SQA Academy team to enrol on any of these courses. Appointee training
Some scheduled courses are only available to SQA Appointees. They include courses such as Scottish Survey of Achievement Field Officer training and Marking to National Standards: Business Management training.
